December 17: Pool Day

We decided that today was a pool day.
Here's what we did:

Pool.

Pool.

Bar.

Ocean.

Pool.

Then off to Cafe del Mar for sunset cocktails.

Cafe del Mar sits atop one of the old bastions of the defensive wall around the Old City. The original cannons are still in place.

Drink orders are in and we are ready for sunset. Cannons in the background.

A cloud bank prevented us seeing the sun touch the water. Beautiful nonetheless.

And then we went to dinner.

We wandered around the Old City until we found El Bistro.

El menu.

El bar.

El dining room.

El vino.

I had the snapper stuffed with salami on a bed of pureed yucca. Great flavor, but the fish was overcooked.

Tim had pork ribs, great flavor and very tender.

Then we wandered some more. Cartagena's Old City is beautiful at night, lighted for Christmas.

Deck the Halls! And good night, Cartagena!
